In recent months, we have become aware that companies have received fraudulent invoices supposedly from “Firetail Limited”. Also, fraudsters can impersonate company directors using fake email addresses and suggest urgent financial transfers. Often, the director is abroad, and all correspondence is by email. Small firms with informal processes are often the targets.
These are both forms of “invoice scam”.
