Crowdfunding scientific research
Petridish.org is a new site for crowdfunding scientific research. Like Kickstarter, it connects small funders directly with the scientist, who share updates as the project progresses. It’s still a beta project, so it’s not clear that this model is sustainable, or what sort of science it will fund, but it shows further growth of the crowdfunding model. READ MORE
