The narrative that rich countries want to green their economies whilst emerging economies just want to grow appears to be wrong. National Geographic’s Greendex report tracks global consumer attitudes to sustainability. It suggests that those with the lightest footprints feel the most guilty about their impact on the environment, but also feel the least empowered to do anything about it. READ MORE
The Circular Economy

The Circular Economy Task Force was launched this week by Green Alliance, the Ellen MacArthur Foundation and a number of corporate partners. Its core idea is that today’s “linear economy” has a “take-make-dispose” model that needs to be made “restorative by design”, drawing lessons from biological cycles. Whilst the ideas are familiar, it’s a clear argument presented in a positive way by some interesting partners. READ MORE
